The Human Experience of

I like making and using personas. Professional wrestlers use them, celebrities use them, and artists use them too. Every since I’ve published Sweat and Shiver, I’ve been fascinated by the single terms that incapsulate the feeling of collective humanity.

Sweat is the special human experience of heat and Shiver is the special human experience of cold. Some other words to encapsulate and share human experience include whistle, kiss, spit, burp, yell, yawn, laugh, gibberish. These are all forms of communication that we do naturally and exist beyond any and all senses or feelings.

When you whistle, you’re moving your mouth to produce sound that reflects how you feel. Humans can harmonize their special feelings simply by whistling together. Kiss is what we do when trying to communicate love and compatibility. One kiss was all I needed in 2019 to turn my life from black-and-white into full color. One kiss says everything a couple needs to say to one another. Spitting is looked down upon as crass and crude but spitting is a good way to quickly get rid of some excess saliva. Sometimes I spit with authority.

Burping, laughing, yelling, speaking gibberish, slurring words. These are all things humans do naturally so I don’t even need to continue writing about it for you to know what I’m talking about.

Kazoo is the human experience of party, Whistle is the human experience of walking around the world, kiss is the human experience of love touch, spit is the human experience of righteous anger at excess, burp is the human experience of loud relief, yell is the human experience of epic alerts, yawn is the human experience of contagious rest, laugh is the human experience of collective humor, and gibberish is the human experience of unique freakiness.
